Make it truly two-sidedPhrase the question so yes and no are the only sensible answers. If people need a maybe, use a single choice poll instead.
Set a deadlineAdd a deadline that matches when you need the decision, so everyone knows when voting closes and the result is final.

How do I create a yes / no poll in Gmail?

Install Polls for Gmail, start a new email and open the add-on from the compose window, or click the robot next to Send if you use the Chrome extension. Choose Yes / No, type your question, insert the poll and send. Results show live in your dashboard.

Do recipients need an account to vote in a Gmail poll?

No. Recipients vote with one click straight from the email. There is no sign-in and nothing to install, and they can vote from any email client, not just Gmail.

Can I see who voted yes and who voted no?

Yes, if you turn on voter identification when you create the poll. Voters provide their name or email, and your dashboard shows each person's answer. With it off, you see the totals only.

Is a yes / no poll in Gmail free?

Yes. The Free plan includes every poll type, including Yes / No. Paid plans (Standard at $100 per year and Pro at $150 per year) add more, such as vote reminders, templates and exports on Pro.

Can I add a maybe option to a yes / no poll?

A Yes / No poll has exactly two answers. If you want Yes, No and Maybe, create a single choice poll and type those three options yourself. Voters still pick one with a single click.

Can I set a deadline or hide results on a yes / no poll?

Yes. Each poll can optionally have a voting deadline, hidden results so voters are not swayed by the tally, and voter identification. Choose these settings when you create the poll.
