Tips for better answers

Say the count in the question"Pick your top three" sets expectations without capping anyone, since voters can otherwise tick any number of options.
Read results as shares of votersPercentages are based on voters, not votes, so totals can pass 100%. An 80% bar means 80% of people chose it.
Keep lists short and scannableLong lists get skimmed. If you have many options, split them into two focused polls or group similar items together.

Can people select more than one answer in a Gmail poll?

Yes. With a multiple-choice poll each voter can tick as many options as apply, from one to all of them. If you want exactly one answer per person, use a single-choice poll instead.

Why do multiple-choice poll results add up to more than 100%?

Each option's percentage is calculated against the number of voters, not total votes. Because people can pick several options, totals can pass 100%, and each bar shows the true share of people who chose that option.

How many options can a multiple-choice poll have?

Up to 10 options on the Free and Standard plans, and up to 20 on Pro. Pro also lets you include up to 5 questions in one poll.

Do recipients need an account or add-on to vote?
