How it works · creating polls

Create a poll in Gmail, or anywhere you email

There are two ways to build a poll: right inside the Gmail compose window, woven into the email you're already writing — or in the dashboard's full-size editor, then pasted wherever you like: Gmail, your own email templates, or campaigns in Mailchimp, MailerLite, Outlook and more. Same poll, same one-click voting, either way.

The two ways

Pick the flow that fits the moment

Way 1 · Gmail compose

Built into your workflow

Start an email, tap the Polls for Gmail icon, and build the poll without leaving the message. It drops straight into your draft — insert, send, done. Recipients are captured automatically for vote reminders. Available on every plan.

Way 2 · Dashboard — Pro

The smoothest way to build

A full-size editor at pollsforgmail.com: every option one click away, all seven poll types, up to five questions, and start from any previous poll as a template. Share the vote link, or click Copy for Gmail and paste the poll into any email — it arrives fully votable and looks exactly the same.

Beyond Gmail

Paste it into the tools you already send with

Poll buttons are plain HTML links, so a pasted poll survives any campaign editor and renders in any email client. Votes stream into your dashboard no matter where the email came from.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I use Polls for Gmail with Mailchimp or MailerLite?

Yes. Create the poll in your dashboard, click Copy for Gmail, and paste it into your campaign or template. The vote buttons are plain HTML links, so they survive every major campaign tool — and every vote lands in your live dashboard.

What's the difference between the two ways?

The compose window is the in-your-workflow route — build the poll inside the message you're writing. The dashboard is the full-size editor: smoother building, templates from previous polls, then share the link or paste the poll anywhere. The polls themselves are identical.

Does a pasted poll work the same as an inserted one?

Yes — same card, pixel for pixel, same one-click voting. One difference: the add-on adds the recipient-capture BCC for vote reminders automatically; for pasted polls you add the poll's BCC address yourself if you want reminders.

Is creating polls from the dashboard free?

Compose-window creation is on every plan, free included. Dashboard creation — with templates and Copy for Gmail — is part of Pro ($120/year).

Do voters need Gmail to vote?

No. Voting is one click from any email client — Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, or a newsletter opened anywhere. Voters never need an account.
