This guide explains how to connect Polls for Email to Zapier, what each trigger and action sends, and how to fix the most common problems. Most issues come down to the API key or the timing of Zapier’s checks.
Connecting Polls for Email to Zapier needs one API key, pasted into Zapier once.
Screenshots of each step are on the integration page.
Polls for Email has two triggers and two actions, and each one sends or needs the fields below.
These are the problems people run into most, with the fix for each.
Copy the key again from your dashboard under Settings, then Zapier. If you clicked Regenerate at any point, the old key stopped working, so reconnect Polls for Email in Zapier with the new one.
The dropdown lists polls from the account the API key belongs to. Make sure you created the poll while signed in with that same account, then click refresh on the dropdown in Zapier.
Zapier checks for new votes every 1 to 15 minutes depending on your Zapier plan, so give it a few minutes. When testing, cast a fresh vote after turning your setup on, since votes from before it was switched on aren’t sent.
Names and emails are only collected when voter identification is on for that poll. Polls set to anonymous send the choice without a name.
Polls created through Zapier follow your plan’s normal limits, and Zapier can create up to 200 polls a day. A poll only counts once it gets its first vote. You can see your plan in the dashboard or upgrade on the pricing page.
It fires when a poll closes by its deadline, by hand or through the Close Poll action. Polls with no deadline stay open until one of those happens.
Turn off or delete the setup in Zapier. To cut off access completely, click Regenerate next to your API key in Settings, and every connection using the old key stops right away.
